COX’S BAZAR: A ringleader of ‘Rashid Bahini’ was killed in a gunfight with police in Timebazar area of Maheshkhali upazila on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Rashid Ahmed, 32, son of Abul Kalam of Purba Puichhara village of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Maheshkhali upazila Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the gunfight was happened around 7:00pm.

The robber Rashid is the main accused of Sub-Inspector Paresh Kanti mureder. He is also wanted in eight cases, including three murder cases, the OC added.
