DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday urged the nation to stand against violence and terrorism in the name of political movement.
She said that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and activists are killing people by throwing petrol bombs and setting fire on passenger buses in the name of hartal and blockade.
Terming these sorts of attacks as violence and terrorism the PM urged the nation to stand against the anti-state elements.
The prime minister came up with this assertion while inaugurating National Primary Education Week, followed by an award giving ceremony, at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in city.
She further said that people ignore BNP-called shutdowns and blockades. But they (BNP) are setting fire to passenger buses and killing people by petrol bombs.
Mentioning the death of four children on January 13, the PM asked the BNP people to stop violent activities in the name of hartal and blockade.
Otherwise, the government will be more ironhanded to encounter the violence, she warned.
