DHAKA: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday said that they will talk to former state minister for foreign affairs Reaz Rahman, who was shot on Tuesday night in city’s Gulshan area.
CID inspector Arif Iftekhar told the media after visiting the spot and collecting evidences in the morning.
An eight-member team of CID’s forensic unit, led by Arif, went to the place at 10:45am on the day to collect the evidences of the attack and stayed over one and a half hour.
The inspector told the media that they had come to the spot to collect the clues so that they can identify the attackers.
They will examine the evidences and talk to the victim, he added.
However, Gulshan Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that no case has yet to be filed till 12:45pm on Wednesday.
He added that forensic unit of CID visited the spot where Riaz Rahman was shot. They had cordoned the area and collected evidences to identify the attackers, he added.
However, miscreants shot Reaz Rahman, who is also adviser to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia, Tuesday night on the return from his meeting with the party chief.
He is admitted to United Hospital in city.
