DHAKA: A member of National Security Intelligence (NSI) was run over by a recklessly-driven bus in front of National Press Club in the city on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Sattar, 50, a senior filed officer of NSI.
The mishap took place around 9:00am when a speedy passenger bus of route no-8 (Gabtoli to Sayedabad) hit the man while crossing the road, leaving him injured critically.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead around 9:30am.
Shahbagh Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Police detained the bus driver and helper, the SI said.
