Another burn victim dies at DMCH

DHAKA: Another person, who received burn injuries in arson attack in Bogra, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Friday.

The ill fated man was identified as Abdur Rahim, 30, son of Alek Morol and hailed from Satkhira Sadar upazila.

Rahim’s younger brother Ramzan Ali told banglanews that Rahim sustained burn injuries as some blockaders set fire to an Onion-laden truck carrying Rahim, owner of the goods, n Noongola area of Bogra around 8:00pm on Thursday.

The truck was fully brunt and three people, including the truck driver, received severe burn injuries in the arson attack.

However, Abdur Rahim was admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital early on Friday where he succumbed to his injuries around 10:30am.

Another victim of the arson attack, Saju, is undergoing treatment at the burn unit in DMCH.

Earlier, another burn victim Jakir, died in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 12:45am on Friday, said hospital sources.

On January 13, some shop keepers rushed Jakir with 70 percent burn injury in Gonoshastho Medical College Hospital in Mirzanagar area of Savar and later transferred to DMCH.
