COX’S BAZAR: Police recovered 40,000 pieces of Yaba tablet here from Maheshkhalia Para under Teknaf upazila on Friday night.

The law enforcers, apart from detaining a man in this connection, also seized two guns, a machete and 10 rounds of cartridge from his possession.

The detainee is Siddique Miah, 30, son of a late Laal Miah of Notun Pallon area of the upazila.

Sources told banglanews that acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in that area at 8:30pm and recovered the illegal drugs.

Siddique was also detained at that time, sources added.

Confirming the matter, Teknaf Thana Officer-in-Charge Ataur Rahman Khandaker said that the detainee will be produced before court followed by a case under concerned act.
