DHAKA: Miscreants hurled cocktails at a private car in front of La Vinci Hotel in Karwan Bazar area on Sunday, leaving its diver injured.

The victim was identified as Sharbat Ali, 30, who had been driving the private car of South Keraniganj municipality mayor Sayed.

Sharbat told banglanews that he left the city’s Tejkunipara for South Keraniganj in the morning. After arrival in front of the hotel, miscreants exploded several cocktails and he sustained splinter injuries.

An onlooker, Babul, took him to a local hospital. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as his condition deteriorated.

Now, the victim is undergoing treatment at DMCH, he added.
