BOGRA: Two people were killed as a lorry knocked them on Dhaka-Bogra highway in the Second Bypass intersection area under Shahjahanpur upazila on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Khaleda, 50, wife of M Khoka of Seuzkari Kelar Bazar area and her grandson Babla, 3.

Locals said a speedy lorry hit them while they were crossing the road in the area around 6:45pm, leaving Khaleda and Babla dead on the spot.

Babla’s elder brother also severely injured in the accident and locals rushed him to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Mannan of Shahjahanpur Thana confirmed the matter to banglandews.

He said the law enforcers seized the lorry, however, its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
