NILPHAMARI: Two college students were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Hajirhat area under Saidpur upazila of the district late on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Tuhin Islam Jewel, 17, son of Fartaj Ali Kala and Dhrubo Roy, 17, son of Ramesh Chandra Shadhu, of the area.

They both are the HSC examinee and also students of Hajarihat School and College of the upazila.

Witnesses and police sources said that a rashly driven human hauler hit a motorcycle in the area around 11:00pm, leaving the duo dead on the spot and injured another critically.

However, the injured was rushed to Saidpur Upazila 100-bed Hospital.

Saidpur Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
