TANGAIL: A leader of an outlawed party was hacked to death by miscreants in Ghugni area near Baghil bazar in Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Golam Rabbani, 40, regional commander of banned Purba Banglar Communist Party (Sarbahara).

Locals spotted the body of Rabbani in the area in the morning and on information, police recovered the body around 8:30am.

Confirming the matter, Tangail Sadar Thana officer-in-charge Golam Mostafa said the body, which bored several injury marks, was sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

The body has several injury marks caused by sharp weapons, he added.
