Cabinet adopts condolence motion on Saudi King's demise

DHAKA: The cabinet on Monday adopted a condolence motion on the demise of Saudi Arabia King Abdullah bin Abdulzziz al Saud.

The condolence motion was adopted at the weekly meeting of the cabinet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hussain Bhuiyan briefed journalists.

On January 23, Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud passed away at the age of 90.

Terming the late king a real friend of Bangladesh, the cabinet secretary said that many Bangladeshis, who working in Saudi Arabia, has been legalized during his regime.  

Bangladesh observed January 24 as a mourning day at the death of Saudi King Abdullah.

To observe the state mourning, the national flag was hoisted at half-mast at a top of all government and private buildings, including educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad.
