GAZIPUR: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been sent on Saturday morning from Kashimpur High Security Jail to Paltan Thana in Dhaka for interrogation.
Sources told banglanews that a team of Paltan Thana police, who will conduct the grill, started from Gazipur around 10:45am with Fakhrul in a prison van.
Confirming the matter, Kashimpur Jail, also known as the Central Jail – Part 2, senior super Jahangir Kabir said that the BNP leader has been sent to Paltan Thana to be quizzed in a case over vandalism.
“Police, however, sought a ten-day remand for Mirza Fakhrul after being produced before the court,” he added.
“But, the court granted three days for interrogating for the BNP leader in the case filed by Paltan Thana police on December 29 over damaging a vehicle belonged to the public administration ministry on the previous day.”
Whoever, police nabbed Mirza Fakhrul on January 7 from National Press Club premises in the capital.
