SAVAR, DHAKA: More than 200 workers of a readymade garments factory in Savar fell sick on Sunday morning. But the reason of falling sick could not be known immediately.
Workers of the AKH factory in Rajphulbaria area have been admitted to local hospitals and clinics.
Factory director Sadulla Saju told banglanews that no incident was reported here that make the workers ill. It might be mental problem, he said.
Witnesses said workers fell sick one after another on Sunday morning after joining their daily duties. Following the incident, panic is prevailing among workers.
Co-workers rushed them to hospitals by rickshaw-van and buses.
More than 100 workers have been admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, on outskirts of capital, till 10:30am.
Hospital’s director Dr Anwarul Kader said doctors-nurses are facing trouble to give treatment to the huge number of workers at a time.
He also assured of providing proper treatment to the workers.
