N’ganj road crash kills SSC examinee

NARAYANGANJ: An examinee of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC), which is going to be started from Friday, was killed in a road accident here in Rupganj Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Joynal Abedin, 19, son of Sattar Ali, resident of Dahargaon village of the upazila.

Sources told banglanews that Joynal was found spot-dead after the motorcycle he was riding on collided head-on with a covered van at Golakandail area of Rupganj on Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 11:30pm.

The accident, however, left two more injured. They are Shaheen Miah, 22, residing in Horgaon village, adjacent to Golakandail and Riyad Miah, 21, of the same area.

According to the witnesses, both of the injured were also riding on the same bike.

Bhulta police outpost sub-inspector (SI) Zulfiqar Talukder, confirming the accident, said that police detained the covered van driver.
