DHAKA: At least two cocktails were blasted at Shahbagh Thana compound in the capital on Sunday night.

Sources told banglanews that the blasts took place at 8:45pm when second day of 72-hour nationwide hartal is underway, coupled with non-stop blockade since January 6, sponsored by 20-party alliance.

However, according to the sources, police could not detain the miscreants though the cocktails were hurled at the police station’s gate.

Shahbagh Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter and said that miscreants had left the scene immediately after hurling the cocktails.

“But we are trying to identify them analyzing Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage,” he added.
