JHALOKATI: A court here awarded death penalty to five JMB men for killing Jhalokati Public Prosecutor Advocate Haidar Hussain about eight years back.

District Session Judge Abdul Halim passed the order in a crowded court on Wednesday noon.

The JMB men gunned down Haidar Hussain on April 11 in 2007 as he led prosecution in 2-judge killing case.

Six top JMB men including Shaekh Abdur Rahman, Siddikul Islam Bangla Bhai were sentenced to death in the case. Haidar was killed 13 days after the verdict.
