DHAKA: The Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, also Commonwealth Parliamentary Association chairperson, left Bangladesh for India to join in the 2nd Women Leadership Congress Award (WLCA).

The public relations department of the parliament sources confirmed the matter to banglanews on Friday.

Shagufta Yasmin Emily MP accompanied her in the journey.

The speaker is expected to return on February 15.
