BORGUNA: Five bodies were recovered after a trawler, carrying over 200 passengers, capsized in Payra River in Tetulbari area under Taltali upazila Friday noon.

Two of the deceased were identified as Joynal, 52, hailed from Kolapara upazila of Patuakhli and Safez Uddin, 60.

Superintendent of Police (SP) of Borguna Saiful Islam told banglanews that the joint rescue team of Coast Guard, Fire Service and police recovered five bodies from the river.

The drive has been continuing to rescue the missing passengers.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Babuli Akhter of Taltala Thana said the Borguna-bound trawler coming from Kuakata capsized in the river around 1:00pm.

Locals rescued most of the passengers of trawler.
