MUNSHIGANJ: A police constable along with his driver was died in a road accident in the district on Sunday while he accompanied by his family members was rushing to village home hearing the news of mother’s death. 

The accident took place in Kamarkhola area under Sreenagar upazila this noon.

The deceased were identified as Abdur Razzaq, 42, constable of Ramna Thana and a private car driver Abdus Salam, 40.

Police sources said that Abdur Razzaq along with his family was going to his village house by a rented private car after he had heard the news of his mother’s death.

At one stage, a rashly driven passenger bus collided head-on with the private car in the area around 1:30pm, leaving them dead on the spot and three other family members injured critically.

After providing first aid, the injured were sent to Dhaka for better medical treatment.

Hashara Highway Police outpost sergeant Monir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
