TANGAIL: Miscreants exploded petrol bombs on a running truck in Sarpoilshia area under Bhuapur upazila of the district early Thursday, injuring two people.

The injured were identified as Uzzal, 32, truck driver, and Mamun, 22, truck helper.

Locals told banglanews that the truck, carrying sand, was going to Taingail from Sirajkandi Balurghat. On arrival in the area, miscreants hurled bombs on the vehicle around 1:00am, leaving the truck driver and helper injured.

Local rushed in and sent the injured to Tangail Medical College and Hospital. On the injured Mamun was in critical condition.

They were sent to Dhaka for better treatment, hospital sources said.

Bangabandhu Bridge East Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Akheruzzam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
