‘Keep confidence on me about Teesta’ Mamata Banerjee

DHAKA:  Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal of India asked the people of Bangladesh to keep confidence on her about Teesta Water Sharing issue. It’s a problem of the both ends.

She said, “I will also talk to Hasinadi (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) over the Teesta issue. Leave the matter on us.”

Padma, Meghna, Ganges, Jamuna rivers are all of us. None won’t be shared those, she added.

She came up with the assertion at an ‘Adda’ in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka Hotel in city on Friday noon.

Earlier on Thursday night, Mamata Banerjee arrived here in Bangladesh on a three-day official visit at the invitation of foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali on the occasion of ‘Bhasha Divas’ falls on February 21.

The West Bengal CM also said that there is no boundary between the minds of the people of two Banglas.

She added: “I am glad to visit Bangladesh in the month of linguistic glory, honor and dignity and I smell the same essence of West Bengal here.”

She also said that she is proud to be here to celebrate the International Mother Language Day.

The West Bengal CM also thanked Sheikh Hasina and said that there are geographical and political boundaries in two Banglas but there is hardly any soul-boundary between West Bengal and Bangladesh.

She also said that our food habits, culture and traditions are same. The legendary singers-poets Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Lalon, Khudiram belong to both the Banglas.

Mamata Banerjee also said that Bangladesh will always remain in her heart.

Moreover, she said that we should have an open discussion to settle down the unsettled issues of the two friendly nations.
