Indian Navy Chief due on Sunday

DHAKA: Admiral RK Dhowan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff of Indian Navy, is scheduled to pay a goodwill visit to Bangladesh from February 22-26.

Admiral RK Dhowan will undertake the visit at the invitation of the Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Navy, Vice Admiral M Farid Habib, NBP, ndc.psc.

Indian High Commission to Bangladesh issued a press release on Friday in this regard.

The release said, during his visit, the Indian Naval Chief will present two Enterprise Class boats to the Bangladesh Naval Academy, Chittagong.

To coincide with the visit of the Naval Chief, Indian Navy ship ‘INS Ranjit’ will pay a goodwill visit to Chittagong Port.

The ‘INS Ranjit’ is the third of the five Rajput class destroyers, commissioned on November 24 of 1983.

Admiral RK Dhowan will be accompanied by his wife Minu Dhowan. 

Admiral RK Dhowan’s visit is part of the tradition of regular high level exchanges between the Armed Forces of both the countries and will enhance friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two neighbouring navies.
