3 Bangladeshis missing in Abu Dhabi fire

SAUDI ARABIA: Three Bangladeshis remained missing in a fire incident at a building in Mussafah area of Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates, early Friday.

The Bangladeshis are Selim, Abdus Shukkur and Enamul.

The foreign ministry issued a press release to the media in this regard.

At least 10 people were burnt alive and 12 sustained injuries in the fire.

Labor councilor Aman Ullah Chowdhury for Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi also confirmed the matter.

Some fellows of the deceased informed that some Bangladeshis, hail from Chittagong, lived in the building which also housed tyre shop and restaurant.

The bodies have been kept in Sheikh Khalifa Medical College Morgue for autopsy. DNA testing will be conducted in order to identify the deceased.

Witnesses said the fire broke out at the building around 3:00am when residents were asleep.
