Mamata stresses bilateral cooperation

DHAKA: Mamata Banerjee, visiting Chief Minister of West Bengal, stressed on bilateral cooperation between businessmen for trade and economic development of Bangladesh and India.

She said Express Gateway needs to be made among the SAARC member states.

She also invited Bangladeshi businessmen to visit her state saying “We will visit your country and you will pay visit to ours.”

The West Bengal Chief Minister came up with the urges while addressing a press briefing after holding a special session with businessmen at city's Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the afternoon.

Citing the ratification of a Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) is now a matter of time, Mamata Banerjee said so you have solution to a problem. The rest is the Teesta water sharing deal.  Discussion is underway on the issue and will be resolved soon.

High Commissioner of India Pankaj Saran was among others present on the occasion.

The meeting was jointly organised by India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) with the support of the High Commission of India.
