CHAPAINAWABGANJ: A man was burnt to death and another sustained burn injuries as miscreants hurled petrol bomb on a covered van in Kalabari area under Shibganj upazila early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Shipon, 30, driver of the covered van, son of Abdul Mannan of Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district while the injured was Shakil, 17, helper of the van.
 
Shibganj Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) MM Mainul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The OC said that miscreants hurled petrol bombs on a Sonamasjid Land Port-bound covered van in the area, burning the vehicle driver to death on the spot and injuring the helper critically.

The helper was rushed to Shibganj Health Complex and later sent to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.

Police sent the body to the district Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, miscreants set fire to four more trucks from Monday 10:30pm to Tuesday dawn across the district.
