DHAKA: Customs authorities recovered a total of 18.5 kilograms gold worth about Tk 9.5 crore from a Singapore-return fight of Regent Airways at Shahjalal International Airport Tuesday night.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate assistant commissioner Farid Al Mamun confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Farid said that acting on a tip-off, officials searched the Regent Air flight (O785), which landed at the airport around 9:00pm, and recovered the gold from inside a toilet around 10:45pm.
Market price of the seized gold is estimated around Tk9.50 crore, said the commissioner.
