NAOGAON: Two persons, including a woman, were run over by a speedy truck in Baghchara area under Mohadevpur Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Ramjan Ali, 20, son of Ataur Rahman of Faratpur village of Naogaon Sadar and Samiron, 50, wife of late Jatish Chandra of same village.

Locals said a truck, coming from opposite direction, ran over the rickshaw-van carrying Ramjan and Samiron in Baghchara area around 9:15am, leaving them dead on the spot and the driver injured.

The duo was heading for district town to sale Jujube, locals added.

Naohata police outpost sub-inspector Abdul Hakim said on information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
