Bangladeshi killed in UAE road crash

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: A Bangladeshi citizen was killed and three others injured in a road accident at Shahma area in Abu Dhabi at the wee hours of Thursday (local time).

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shahjahan Majumder Khorshed, 42, son of one Atar Ali Majumder, hailed from Chauddagram upazila of Comilla district.

The injured included his wife Mahmuda Akhter Lizi, and two daughters Lamisha, 6, and Lamia 4.

Deceased’s relative Saleh Ahmed told banglanews that while returning from a friend’s house, they fell victim of the accident at Shahama area in Abu Dhabi around 12:30am of Thursday.

Shahjahan’s body was kept at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital of Abu Dhabi. The injured were undergoing treatment at Al-Rahba Medical, he added.

On contact, labor counselor of Bangladesh Embassy to Abu Dhabi Aman Ullah Chowdhury told banglanews that no one reported to him about the accident.
