BSF abducts Bangladeshi in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT: A team of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) abducted a Bangladeshi farmer from Dahgram border area of the district Thursday morning.

The abductee was identified as Asmat Ali, 23, son of one Mojibur Rahman, hailed from Katipara village under Dahgram union of Patgram upazila.

Lalmonirhat 15 Battalion Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) commander Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Bazlur Rahman Hayatee confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Quoting local sources he said a patrol team of Tistakusti camp of Cooch Behar-13 Battalion of BSF detained Asmat while he and two other Bangladeshi farmers were irrigating a maze field near the sub-pillar no 13 of main pillar no 6 of Dahgram border.

“We have called for a flag meeting over the incident,” the BGB commander added.
