KHAGRACHHARI: At least eight policemen, including an Assistant Police Super, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana, were injured in an attack by a gang of gamblers at Komolchhari of the district on Friday night.

Police Super Sheikh M Mizanur Rahman told banglanews that acting on tip-off that some people are gambling at Komolchhari a team of police went to the spot around 10:00pm.

Noticing the law enforcers’ presence, gamblers hurled brick-chips at them, leaving eight cops, including ASP Sarwar Alam and OC Mizanur Rahman, injured, the SP added.

The other injured are Assistant Sub Inspectors Tarun Chakma, Arif, Rana Protap, Nazir, belal Hossain and Kalam. The injured were given first aid at Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital.
