DHAKA: A group of miscreants snatched Tk 2 lakh by beating up the driver of a CNG-run-auto-rickshaw in city’s Demra area Sunday morning.

The victim Dulal told banglanews that he was carrying the money to pay for an old auto-rickshaw that he purchased from a garage in Dogail Purba Para of Demra.

Some miscreants, identified as Raju, Robin, Rubel and their accomplices, beat Dulal and snatched Tk 2 lakh around 10:00am near Kashem Masjid in Dogail.

Later, one of Dulal’s relatives rescued and admitted him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

Demra Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Jahirul Islam told banglanews that they will take necessary steps on the matter.
