CHITTAGONG: A suspected robber was beaten to death by a mob in North Nischintapur area under Fatikchhari upazila of the port city early Thursday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatikchhari Thana Mafiz Uddin told banglanews that being confirmed that a robber-gang is preparing to rob a house in the area, an announcement was made through the mosque mike.

The locals then caught the robbers and started beating that left the dacoit dead on the spot.

However, other accomplices of the decease managed to flee the spot, the OC added.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The body was sent to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.
