RAJBARI: A woman and her brother-in-law were killed after being hit by thunderbolt at their house in Sadar Upazila of Rajbari Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Rubel Sheikh, 15, son of Abul Bashar Sheikh of Bara Nurpur village Basanta union of the upazila, and Pervin Begum, 18, wife of Rubel’s elder brother.

Villager Mazed Talukdar told banglanews that the Parvin and Rubel were sitting together on the veranda of their house in the evening. At one stage, they fell down on earth as lightning struck them.

Family members rushed them to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital (FMCH) where on-duty doctor pronounced them dead.

Basanta Union Parishad chairman AKM Shafiuddin Ahmed Kashem confirmed the matter to banglanews.
