DHAKA: Another victim, who received burn injuries in a fire at the office of an NGO Society for Social Service (SSS), in Fatullah upazila of the district, died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman, 30, a field-officer of the NGO. The death toll reached at four.

SSS zonal manager Rafiqul Islam told banglanews that more than 50 percent of the victim’s body was burnt.

“Of the burn victims, rest two are under treatment at DMCH,” he added.

Residential physician of DMCH Burn Unit Partha Sankar Paul confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on March 15, six people received burn injuries in a fire that broke out following an explosion at the SSS office in Panchabati Rupashi Housing area at Fatullah in Narayanganj sadar upazila.

The explosion occurred when the workers were repairing the power supply line.

However, three out of six burn victims succumbed to their injuries at DMCH. Two more victims are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
