DHAKA: Foreigners will not have to take permission from home affairs ministry for visiting the three districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).
State minister for home affairs ministry Asaduzzaman Khan informed the media on Monday afternoon.
Earlier on January 7, a home ministry meeting took decision on the requirement of permission for foreigners from foreign ministry while visiting the CHT districts on security reasons.
According to the previous decision, a foreign citizen will need to appeal to home ministry with information on their visit to the place as well as duration of their stay.
On the new decision, the state minister said that restrictions on the foreigners in visiting the CHT region had been withdrawn on March 22.
As in the previous days, the foreigners will take permission only from the deputy commissioner of the respective district on their visit, Asaduzzaman added.
