DHAKA: Government has taken initiatives to send a proposal to United Nations (UN) seeking declaration of March 25 as ‘International Mass Killing Day’.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozzammel Huq confirmed the matter to banglanews on Tuesday.
He said there is no such example of mass killings in the world like the widespread massacre of March 25 in 1971 conducted by Pakistani occupation forces in the then eastern part of Pakistan, now Bangladesh.
So, the government has prepared all documents demanding the UN declaration of March 25 as ‘International Mass Killing Day’.
The ministry has also taken necessary steps in this regard, the minister added.
