TANGAIL: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque claimed that police force did not arrested BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed.
The top official of Bangladesh Police came up with this assertion while speaking as chief guest in district meeting of community policing at Zila Parishad ground in Tangail on Friday.
He said if the law enforcers arrested him, then the BNP senior leader must be produced before the court.
“Even, family members of Salahuddin did not lodge any complaint in writing till now. Though, we are trying our level best to rescue him”, he added.
The IGP also claimed that people of the country stand against the sabotage makers rejecting the frequent hartal and non-stop blockade.
The people from all walks of life should come forward to make the district drug free. The drug dealers will face legal actions with help of policing committee, Shahidul said.
District superintendent of police (SP) Saleh Mohammad Tanvir presided over the meeting where Dhaka range DIG SM MAhfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman and deputy commissioner M Mahbub Hossain, among others, were present.
