LALMONIRHAT: Two cousins allegedly committed suicide with a same rope in Tatrarpar Kolabechatari area under Patgram upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased were identified as Rumana Akhter, 16, class VIII student of Patgram AP Senior Madrasha, daughter of Shafiqul Islam and her maternal sister Nasrin Akhter Nargis, 13, daughter of Mintu Miah and a student of class VII of the same institution.

Locals said they spot the hanging bodied of Rumana and Nasrin with a mango tree in the area around 4:30am and informed police.

Police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

Patgram Thana officer-in-charge (OC, Investigation) Mahafuj Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said an unnatural death case has been filed in this connection, however, the reason of the suicide could not be known immediately.
