SATKHIRA: Two men died, 14 injured in school roof collapse in Laksmidari area under Sadar upazila of the district when they went up the roof to watch a program Saturday night.

One of the deceased was identified as Saddam Hossain of Baliadangi village of Debhata upazila.

Sources said there made a huge crowd in the program organized at Lakshidari Primary School premises where district police super Chowdhury Manjurul Kabir was chief guest.

Some people went up in the school roof to watch the cultural program.

Suddenly, the rooftop and a wall of the school collapsed around 10:30pm, leaving two people died on the spot and 14 others injured.

Satkhira Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (IC) Emdad Sheikh confirmed the matter to banglanews.
