BOGRA: A total of 91,894 houses were damaged by Friday’s nor’wester, affecting some 413,704 people across the district.

Sources of Directorate of Relief and Rehabilitation (DRR) said Monday afternoon.

The nor’wester, however, has destroyed some 70,301 houses completely and some 28,667 partially.

Moreover, 26 educational institutions were also damaged totally and 174 partially.

Bogra DRR officer Abdur Rahman told banglanews that the affected people are being provided with assistances from the district and the police administrations.

Bogra additional deputy commissioner M Khorshed Alam said that a total of Tk 3.60 lakh has been distributed among the families of the deceased, giving Tk 20,000 to each. Around 50 metric tons of rice has also been distributed among the affected people.

Meanwhile, seeking more assistances, a letter has also sent other ministry, Alam added.

However, a nor’wester that lashed across the district on Friday left 19 people killed and scores injured in the area.
