LALMONIRHAT: Five members of a family were killed as a passenger bus rammed into a battery-run ‘easy-bike’ in Selimnagar Bazaar of Lalmonirhat sadar upazila.

The accident took place around 12:30pm on Tuesday.

One of the deceased was identified as Faruque Hossain (40), driver of the ‘easy-bike’ while the others were known as two female members and two children of his family, residing in Panchagram of the district.

Police said that the victims died on the spot as a passenger bus knocked them down in Selimnagar Bazar area.

However, Lalmonirhat additional police super Shahadat Hossain and Kurigram’s Rajarhat Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdur Rashid confirmed the incident.
