DHAKA: Eleven Bangladeshis including eight women were rescued from war-torn Yemen reached Dhaka Friday afternoon.
An Emirates Airlines flight from Djibouti landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city around 5:30pm carrying the Bangladeshis.
The senior officials of the foreign ministry led by additional secretary Mizanur Rahman received them.
The foreign ministry issued a press release in this regard in the evening.
The statement said more 304 Bangladeshis were rescued on Friday from Djibouti. Among them, Indian ship rescued 272 Bangladeshis from Hodaida and 20 more from Sana.
According the sources, some 1,500 to 3,000 Bangladeshis are staying in Yemen. However, all of them are not willing to return home despite the war.
