Right time to utilize untapped potential of Bangladesh

DHAKA: Bangladesh’s untapped potential could be a big opportunity for Dutch residents of Bangladesh origin to unleash their knowledge and talents to build bridges of business and investments between Bangladesh and the Netherlands.

Regarding the matter, the Embassy of Bangladesh in The Hague hosted a business seminar at the Embassy premises on Monday (April 13) to promote business and investment between two countries.

The Embassy issued a press release on Monday that said about 30 Dutch entrepreneurs of Bangladeshi origin also expressed that this is the right time to utilize the potential of Bangladesh.

Dutch Residents of Bangladesh origin could work as a readily available conduit for more joint ventures between the the two countries, it added.

Innovative initiatives like ICT and logistic outsourcing, ETP sourcing from the Netherlands, employing chefs from Bangladesh, bike manufacturing etc. were discussed, among others, as future opportunities.

Dutch experts from Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Netherlands Chamber of Commerce, Annette Weijman and Marco van Hagen made presentations highlighting different provisions and funds available to Dutch business should they wish to expand their business in Bangladesh.

Aspects of immigration and taxes were also elaborated to help NRBs/Dutch residents as they make their business decisions.

Bangladesh Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal highlighted the prevailing opportunities and incentives for expatriates should they wish either to expand or begin new businesses in Bangladesh.

Ambassador Belal also highlighted Bangladesh’s geo-strategic location in between India and China with ASEAN common market next door and thereby encouraging them to make smart investments in an emerging Asia.

Dutch NRBs reiterated their resolve to work for promoting business relations between two countries and upholding the image of brand Bangladesh.
