DHAKA: An eight-member Thai delegation led by culture minister Vira Rojpojchanarat arrived Dhaka Monday night for a one-day visit to Bangladesh to witness Bangla New Year festivities.
The Thai minister and his entourage along with Bangladesh cultural minister Asaduzzaman Noor visited Ramna Batamul in city at 6:30am on Tuesday to watch Bangla New Year ‘Barsha Baran’ morning soiree.
The two Ministers later enjoyed the colourful Mongol Shobhajatra at the Fine Arts Institute of Dhaka University.
His delegation includes Inspector General of Culture Sureerat Wongsangiem, secretary to the minister Prarop Laovanich, Director of International Affairs Darunee Thamapodol and other high officials of Thai culture ministry, and members of Thai media.
The Thai minister was received at Hazrat Shahjalal Airport by Dr. Ranjit Kumar Biswas, Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs and senior officials of Cultural Affairs and Foreign Ministry.
The Thai minister Rojpojchanarat is cheduled to leave Dhaka on April 15.
