MEHERPUR: Ruling Awami League placed floral wreaths at Mujibnagar Mausoleum in the district commemorating the formation of historic Mujibnagar Government on this day in 1971.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, also an advisory council member of the party, along with party leaders and activists placed the wreath and hoisted national flag here at 10am.

AL general secretary and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif were, among others, present here.

They were also given guard of honour by Police, BGB, Ansar and VDP members.

A rally was also arranged in this regard.
