SAVAR, DHAKA: Two robbers were beaten to death by angry mob in Battala Hindupara village of the upazila early Saturday.

Police sources said a gang of 10/12 robbers stormed into a house of local trader Sunil during early hours of the day. The robbers confined the family members at gun point and looted cash and gold jewelries.

As some of family started shouting, the robbers chopped Sunil and fled the house, leaving him injured.

Hearing their hue and cry, villagers chased the robbers, caught two of the gang members and gave them a mass beating, leaving them dead on the spot.

Savar Model Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Abdul Motaleb confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The OC said that on information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection, added the OC.
