COMILLA: India’s Border Security Force (BSF) handed over body of the lynched Bangladeshi Nur Islam on Katak Bazar frontier in Comilla.
But they did not return wounded Bangladeshi Abdul Majid.
The handover took place in a flag meeting in company commander level started at 4:00pm.
Comilla Kotowali Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Khorshed Alam and Sadar Dakshin Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Prashanta Pal also attended the meeting.
Earlier on the wee hours of Sunday, a group of Indians lynched a Bangladeshi on Shahpur border in Comilla.
India’s Border Security Force (BSF) informed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members in a letter on Sunday morning.
The victim had been identified as Nur Islam (50), hailed from Rajapara village in Comilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila of the district and Abdul Majid, son of Abdul Hakim of the same village.
Majid is undergoing treatment at Sonapur Hospital in India.
Bibir Bazar BGB commander Subedar Mahbub told banglanews that the BSF letter mentioned Nur Islam had gone to India’s Sonapur village for stealing. After catching, villagers beat him to death.
