BHOLA: A trawler with over one hundred passengers aboard has reportedly been capsized in the river Meghna in Manpura upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Locals said that the trawler, sailing from Hazirhat union of Manpura to Hatia upazila of Noakhali district, was hit by a storm around 11:45am.

Manpura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ershad Ali told banglanews that on information, they had sent police and coast guard personnel to the spot.

He further said they could not know whether the trawler was carrying passengers or cattle.
