136 more Bangladeshis return home

DHAKA: 136 more Bangladeshis, including five women and five children, returned home from war-torn Yemen on Tuesday night.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines landed at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport around 9:20pm from Djibouti of Africa.

State Minister M Shahriar Alam received them at the airport.

They were evacuated from Hodeida, Yemen on April 15 by Indian Naval Ship (INS)-Sumitra and reached Djibouti on April 16. They had stayed there for seven days.

With intervention of International Organization of Migration (IOM), 10 Bangladeshis are staying in Sudan while 40 more in Sana.  The foreign ministry will bring them back to home soon. 

With the return of fresh batch of 136 Bangladeshis, a total number of 487 nationals arrived home safely.
