DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina on Sunday expressed her profound sympathy to the victims of Saturday’s massive earthquake that left over 2,000 dead in neighboring Nepal.
The PM was speaking at press conference held at her official residence Ganabhaban in city.
‘We will stand by Nepal people. We are communicating with them,’ she added.
The premier also talked about her recent Indonesia visit in attending the three-day Asian-African Conference in Indonesia capital Jakarta from April 22.
‘Besides attending the conference, I also held bilateral meetings with world leaders and put greater emphasis on cooperation.’
‘In my speech at the conference I also put importance on the cooperation between the countries of southern hemispheres,’ she added.
At the conference, the premier also upheld her country’s achievements in different sectors, including women empowerment, education, information technology as well as economic development.
She also urged the nations to invest in Bangladesh during her visit, the PM informed the media at the press conference.
